Let’s Make A Weekend Of It

Being opening weekend I decided to go back to back and headed back out on to the water again. The sun was gone today and the winds had picked up so things were no where as nice as yesterday, but we headed out to see what we might find. We Rosario Strait looking a little rough we headed down the La Conner Channel which is always a treat to cruise since Island Adventure moved their trips from La Conner to Anacortes. The channel is fantastic for birds with a spotting Eagles, Harlequin Ducks, Mallards, and even a King Fisher. As we got out of the channel into the Skagit River delta we found grey whale #44 Dubknuck again still feeding near the same area. Dubkuck kept a steady rhythm and surfaced near us a few times showing off its fluke even. After saying goodbye to Dubknuck we continued our search where we found a bunch of harbor seals and two eagles hanging out at Seal Rock before heading back to the dock.
