Double Header (PM)
Right out of the gate we headed south stopping for nothing, the captain had heard of Orcas to the far south and we were on the chase. We made our way all the way down to Port Townsend and sure enough found two Biggs Orcas T125a Jetsam & T128 Flotsam out and hunting for dinner. While we saw no direct predation it certainly looked like they were being successful by their movements and behavior. After plenty of time with the pair, we broke off to go check on the feeding shelf we had visited the Minke at on the morning trip. Getting on scene there were multiple bait balls attracting fish and it did not take long to find the Minke. In total we spotted 6-8 Minke feeding at the spot without IDs it was impossible to keep track. After this show, we made our way back to Anacortes stopping to say hi to a few lazy Stellers on a bouy. Overall an extremely successful full day, maybe too successful when I get to the pictures later...
